In the last month or so, life has changed dramatically for me and steered me on a course of life that I never dreamed or imagined. I have been in the UK for the last 1.5 years on a Working Holidaymaker visa which is a scheme set up by the UK Home Office to afford Commonwealth citizens to come to the UK and work for up to 12 months while on an extended vacation ..yeah right. So I came to the UK to support and be with my sister who is at university and three months after my arrival and close to to bankruptcy I found a job with the US telecom giant, Sprint. I've spent the last year there and as time approached the 12 month mark I informed them that if they would like to keep me on as an employee some change of status would have to be enacted. Through time this did not work due to organisational stumbling blocks but in February of this year I had started looking at programmes worldwide that would allow me to finish my postgraduate education and I submitted an application to the University of Kalmar's Baltic Business School to do the Masters in Leadership and International Management - a one year programme.
Shortly after being informed that the work extension being sought by Sprint would not pan out, I received an email from the school informing me that I had been accepted to the programme and needed to reply by the end of the week if I am interested in accepting the position offered.

So, I was faced with this decision and as the programme is one year and I would like to do it , I accepted the position and will head to Sweden in August hopefully

Some words of wisdom from a wise man

" A true master is not one with the most students, but one who creates the most masters
A true leader is not the one with the most followers, but one who creates the most leaders
A true king is not the one with the most subjects, but one who leads the most to royalty
A true teacher is not the one with the most knowledge but one who causes the most others to have knowledge
And a tru God is not the one with the mostservants but One who serves the most, thereby making Gods of all others
For this is both the goal and glory of God: that His subjects shall be no more, and that all shall know God not as the unattainable, but as the unavoidable."
(Conversations with God 1 by Neale Donald Walsch)

" Why are you so shortsighted...Why are you so selfish?... Simply expand your definition of "self". The problem is not that you are self-centered, the problem is that you have misdefined the Self around which you are centered. When you center around a "self" that is much smaller than the Self really is, when you define the "self" as something less than the self is in truth, that is when you get into difficulty (New Conversations with God p. 120)

" It means only that you notice your Oneness. Oneness does not mean sameness. Unity and individuality are not mutually exclusive. Differences do not have to mean divisions, and contrast does not have to lead to conflict (New Conversations with God p. 154)

Sonho...sueno...reves

The end of the week, the day of 5th
A potent beverage and a laugh or two
My words and nod lead me and friend to series of rooms
A first, a new frontier awaits
We leave a hub and cross the street
follow a narrow lane to under arches
A transparent doorway appears hidden but beckons
Entry granted, key, band and card accepted
We make our way to the room of changes and suit down
Moving into a world beneath
Rooms of dark, of beds, of water of steam
We walk and circle, move in and out
I sit and chat and see him lie
Alone am I and he rouses
Two meet two
I rise, he follows
In a room less light energy moves
Lips, hands, skin, heat to heat
Never before has a touch sank so deep
A kiss been so soft
A caress so comforting
No boundries, walls or hesitations
Two souls in need and drinking deep
Marcus smiles, hugs and says goodbye for Cambridge
I walk into the light and wake until I am home

FORÇA
It is the passion flowing right on through your veins
And it's the feeling like you're oh so glad you came
It is the moment you remember you're alive
It is the air you breathe, the element, the fire
It is that flower that you took the time to smell
It is the power that you know you got as well
It is the fear inside that you can overcome
This is the orchestra, the rhythm and the drum
Com uma forca, com uma forca (like a force, like a force)
Com uma forca que ninguem pode parar (like a force that no one can stop)
Com uma forca, com uma forca (like a force, like a force)
Com uma fome que ninguem pode matar (like a hunger that no one can kill)
It is the soundtrack of your ever-flowing life
It is the wind beneath your feet that makes you fly
It is the beautiful game that you choose to play
When you step out into the world to start your day
You show your face and take it in and scream and pray
You're gonna win it for yourself and us today
It is the gold, the green, the yellow and the grey
The red and sweat and tears, the love you go. Hey!
Com uma forca, com uma forca
Com uma forca que ninguem pode parar
Com uma forca, com uma forca
Com uma fome que ninguem pode matar
Closer to the sky, closer, way up high, closer to the sky
Com uma forca, com uma forca
Com uma forca que ninguem pode parar
Com uma forca, com uma forca
Com uma fome que ninguem pode matar
Sung by Nelly Furtado

This song expresses so adequately the feelings that I came away with after and I experienced during the New Warior Training Adventure last weekend and is dedicated to all my Warrior brothers who will always be in my heart and mind.

Recently, I've been looking at my career, my life as a whole and trying (through anaylsis, mediattion etc.) to figure out what I would like to spend the rest of my life doing. So far, I have worked in a variety of industries from international communications to corporate communications, manufacturing, the service industry and now the mobile telecommunications industry. Although, I have learned lots of valuable skills in each of these experiences I have yet to feel that I have found the field and career that I would love to devote my life's work to.
So in the last few months I have been doing some research on the latest fields of study and careers and cross referencing them with the skills I have, the things I enjoy doing and my goals and vision for the world. I've come up with coaching/mentoring and training and in my research I came upon a leading coach - Aboodi Shabi's website http://www.aboodi.net/index.htm. On his site he has links to a number of other things and one that I encountered with great interest was the Mankind Project.

Aboodi says that the Mankind Project is a programme that also affected him deeply - a men's initiation ritual that cuts to the core of who we are as human beings, underneath all of our sophistication and defences. It resonates strongly with the mythological ideas of quest and ordeal, and is a real gift to the soul.

So, being the adventourous, inquisitive soul that I am, I checked out the Mankind Project's site at http://www.mkp.org or http://www.mkp.org.uk for those in the UK. They conduct 4 training sessions a year called the " New Warrior Training Adventure" - a weekend programme. I happened to discover this site a few weeks before June's training session which took place June 2-4 and I thank God and all his angels for leading me to this.

I recently attended the programme and would strongly recommend it to any man. It is a once in a lifetime experience that will draw out and fill a man with a world that will make his life brand new. The New Warrior Network Identity Statement is - We are an order of men called to reclaim the Sacred Masculine for our time through Initiation, Training and action in the world. In a world that has good sadly awry due to the misplaced male role models and the unbalanced energies in our societies, this programme is a godsend that can make the difference between a man struggling to come to terms with the challenges of his life and the lives of all around him and a man coming to terms with himself, his purpose in life and what he has to do to make our world a better place.
It is a weekend full of heart moving experiences, bonding and brotherhood that will forever mark an end and beginning of chapters in my life. Triple A+ and highly recommend for any man who is fed up of living in a state of flux and stagnation or just wants to get in touch with that noble and warrior side of his soul
